Honey I 2:260:00/2:26
together on a rock
full-length album released oct 22
“Together on a Rock” is the fourth album from London, Ontario-based folk trio, The Pairs. Known for their three-part harmonies and heartfelt songwriting, the group has been steadily building a name for themselves across North America’s folk scene. Over the past seven years, they've released a full-length album and two EPs, exploring different production styles and collaborations. With this latest release, they return to their folk roots with a mostly acoustic, intimate sound that puts their vocals front and centre.
Recorded live-off-the-floor, “Together on a Rock” aims to create connection — through honest lyrics and a warm, stripped-back atmosphere. In a time where it’s easy to feel disconnected, the songs on this album invite listeners to slow down, reflect, and find common ground. The album explores themes of personal responsibility, humility, and reconnection — not just with each other, but with the wisdom of the rest of the natural world as well.
The album was recorded in Northfield, Connecticut with producer Tracy Walton at On Deck Sound Studio in September 2024, and will be released in October 2025.
honey i
single released October 22nd
“Honey I think we should start again. Wouldn’t you like another chance to do it right? The way you wanted to? Instead of packing all your dreams away to do what they do.” These are the opening words to the new album by The Pairs. It was written to serve as a reminder of the powerful life force that resides in each of us as living beings on this planet. To remember that even when systems and structures fail us, we have our individual actions and interactions with our neighbours that can serve the world in beautiful ways.
past my prime
single released October 1
"Past My Prime" is a reflection on the doubts that come when you’re chasing a dream without clear answers. Written from the solitude of a cold basement apartment, it grapples with the fear of losing time, of not knowing where you’re going or where you belong, or if you truly know what it is you want. It’s taking each of those insecurities and placing them in the mouths of the people around you until you believe everyone is thinking it. “When will they realize this is all a pipe dream?” “When will they give up and settle down?” At its core, this song is dancing the line between choosing a path that asks a lot of you and learning to live with the uncertainty of what comes next — finding peace with the fact that home comes in many forms.
Self aware then self obsessed
single released September 3
Self-Aware Then Self-Obsessed” is a raw exploration of the restless push and pull between independence and connection. The song traces the urge to break away from what feels confining, only to uncover the deeper weight and meaning in staying present through the struggle. With unflinching honesty, it confronts the messy beauty of working through hardship without letting personal despair fracture the bonds that matter most.
thinking about ya
single released July 23
“I’ve been thinking about ya, while you’ve been dying to forget. Honey, if I could, I would change it all for ya. Give you back a little peace in your head” are some of the lyrics to The Pairs’ new single, “Thinking about ya.” The song is a prayer for collective peace. A witnessing of pain that resides in so many of us humans as we struggle to find meaning in a materialistic world that is slowly distancing itself from the intelligence of the earth we are born from. “Handfuls of quiet sit somewhere, while you’ve been working hard to buy it. Rivers run free, while the city keeps piling up around it. Rhythms we ignore, the way we store away the pain. Get moving in the morning and we hold it for another day.”
out to breakfast
single released June 25
"Out to Breakfast" drifts through the quiet aftermath of a relationship's end, capturing the disorientation of shedding a life shaped by habit and quiet compromise. It follows the slow return to parts of the self lost in the blur of codependence, and the complicated emotions that rise in the wake - grief, anger, and the hope that the hurt is somehow mutual. Balancing vulnerability and defiance, it lingers in the tender space where strength and pain, grace and resentment, all exist at once.
Little Light
single released May 28th
This is a song to sing along to! Especially the ending! Too often we are told or conditioned to feel helpless in our world, but there is always the possibility for change. There is always a way to find love. There is always a little light... Somewhere. Imagine that little light inside of you that believes that peace is possible. This song is for that little light. May it keep on growing.
Everything ends
single released April 30th
“Everything Ends” was written from the middle of a 40 acre forest, in an off-grid tiny home at the edge of a pond. From a grief stricken heart, longing to be pulled into the magic that she witnessed in the natural world around her, “Everything Ends” poured out like a prayer. A human being begging to be nurtured by the more-than-human life around her.
like a moth
single released april 2nd
Like a moth to the blue light, we’re pulled towards our screens and they hold us there with memes, sadness, laughter, connection, fear, knowledge, violence. This song is a trance that speaks to phone addiction. The driving rhythm and waves of intensity mimic the feeling of being in a doom scroll. Wanting to know, yet not wanting to know what’s up next.
Rain is Coming Soon
Single Released feb. 26th
"Rain is Coming Soon", is about allowing those sad and scared parts of ourselves to be. Not trying to change the feeling but to know that it's a part of being alive. Just like the flowers blooming and the rainy days, it's all essential.
